In addition, members receive current job postings via email, the alumni magazine, and other information such as event invitations by mail.
We process your personal data, which, depending on your group (alumni association member, event participant, company or individual posting on the job board, online store customer, or event newsletter subscriber), falls under the following data categories:
- Name/Company
- Address and contact information (email, phone number), position
- Gender and date of birth
- Maiden name
- Student ID number (serves as the association membership number)
- Field of study, doctoral degree
- VAT ID number
You have voluntarily provided us with data about yourself, and we process this data based on your consent for the following purposes:
- Member/customer support, as well as
- for our own promotional purposes, such as sending job offers, event announcements, and newsletters (in print and electronic form)
Your data will not be shared with third parties. (Exception: Combined memberships with the Water Management and Environmental Engineering Alumni Assocation , the Agricultural Sciences Alumni Association , Austrian Timber Merchant Association, the Environment and Bio-Resources Management Alumni Association or the Austrian Society for Landscape Architecture and members of the professional groups for Wildlife Ecology and Game Management —in these cases, the data is shared with the relevant association or professional group staff for the purpose of sending out information and conducting association business).
If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address will be used for our own promotional purposes until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in every email.

Online Store
On our website (alumni.boku.wien/shop), we offer users the opportunity to order merchandise by providing personal data. We use the data you provide when ordering goods—without your separate consent—exclusively to fulfill and process your order (unless you also have an active membership in the BOKU Alumni Association). Once the contract has been fully fulfilled and the purchase price has been paid in full, your data will be deleted after the statutory retention periods have expired. Data is not transferred to third parties.
Zoom
