Internship - Biodiversity Analyst (6 month)

wienerberger's Biodiversity Program
In 2023, wienerberger completed the development of Biodiversity Action Plans at over 200 production sites in Europe, North America and India. These plans involve a six-step process: mapping terrain elements, assessing existing green infrastructure, identifying biodiversity potential, obtaining management approval, implementing measures, and monitoring effectiveness.
Employees are actively involved in implementing and monitoring biodiversity measures, fostering a company-wide culture of environmental stewardship. Roles such as biodiversity ambassadors have been established at each site to lead these efforts.

Your Tasks
- Collect, process, and analyze biodiversity data from 200 locations, with a focus on fauna monitoring.
- Use R for statistical analysis and visualization of ecological data.
- Adapt and update biodiversity maps using GIS tools.
- Conduct data quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Support reporting processes by compiling key findings and insights.
- Assist in managing and organizing databases.
Your Profile
- Completed or ongoing Master’s degree in environmental sciences, ecology, biodiversity, geography, or a related field.
- Experience with QGIS and R for spatial analysis and data processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data management and reporting.
- Strong understanding of biodiversity and ecology concepts.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and data quality.
- Motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Good teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with different stakeholders.
