Operative Head of Core Facility Bioinformatics
From 2010 to 2015 Matteo Schiavinato studied Molecular Biology at the University of Padova in Italy. After graduating, he decided to go abroad for a PhD and arrived in Vienna. He did his PhD in Bioinformatics and Genomics at BOKU from 2016 to 2020, in the group of Heinz Himmelbauer. Schiavinato graduated at the end of February 2020. Afterwards he spent 9 months as a postdoc in a metatranscriptomic project. Since January 2021, he started as Operative Head of the Core Facility Bioinformatics, a new core facility to provide expertise in the world of ‘omics and programming to any BOKU research group that needs bioinformatic analyses.
